Bend over and grasp your ankles…here it comes…
The grand experiment has been sliding for a bit, but I am starting to see some evidence of an awakening. It is time to restore this Constitutional Republic – reject tyranny, socialism and suckling at the public teat. Restore honor, integrity and fortitude.
“We Are Not a Democracy: People often associate democracy with freedom. We hear this word used all the time by our politicians, by our neighbors, even sometimes by our educators. But the fact is we are not a democracy. We are a republic. Our Founding Fathers deemed this an important distinction to make and discussed the matter quite a bit. In the end, our Founding Fathers claimed that a democracy was both extreme and dangerous for a country as it would most assuredly result in the oppression of the minority by the majority. Take this one example from Founding Father, Elbridge Gerry: “The evils we experience flow from the excess of democracy.” And Thomas Jefferson said that democracy should never be practiced outside the limits of a town. Our Founders were very wary of power no matter who had it and thus limited it as much as possible — this is why we have such a unique system of checks and balances.”

The founders made it so – it’s up to us to keep it.
“He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.”
“Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.”
“These are the times that try men’s souls.”

*Yes, I used the quotes last year – they are worth remembering.
If there was ever any doubt that the vast majority of celebritards should just STFU, this takes the cake:
Wood Allen says “I am pleased with Obama. I think he’s brilliant. The Republican Party should get out of his way and stop trying to hurt him.
The director said “it would be good…if he could be a dictator for a few years because he could do a lot of good things quickly.” Fox News for the full story
What part of Constitutional Republic does this tool not understand? Allen’s grasp on reality has been tenuous at best for many years, so this really comes as no surprise. Mmmm boy, that must be some goood kool-aid.
While it seems obvious that the Marxist in Chief would like nothing better, I sincerely hope there’s at least a few million of us that take a bit of issue with that concept.
Brilliant, just brilliant…now where did I leave my duct tape?

“Oh, and Mister President? I am somewhat ashamed to have to tell this to the highest-ranking elected official in my country, but our government is not a democracy – it is a constitutional republic. If you do not comprehend the distinction between those two forms of governance, honestly, you should not be occupying your current office.”
Best. Post. Close. Ever.
Note: He’s actually not the only one confused – I think all of DC could use a refresher course!
